As a
People Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in supporting our People Team and helping deliver an excellent employee experience across the organisation. You’ll get hands‑on experience across the full employee lifecycle — from recruitment support and onboarding to People administration, data management and employee engagement.
This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about people, eager to learn and excited to build a career in HR.
What will I be delivering?- Provide People administration support — Assist with day‑to‑day People Team admin, including maintaining employee records, preparing documents and keeping systems up to date.
- Support Recruitment Processes — Help with posting job adverts, screening applications, scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates.
- Assist with Onboarding — Prepare employee documentation, background checks, welcome packs, coordinate induction activities, liaise with IT and ensure new starters have a smooth, positive experience.
- Maintain People Systems and Data — Update employee information, run basic reports and ensure data accuracy across HR platforms.
- Support Work Experience placements – Liaise with schools and universities to complete required documentation and arrange inductions.
- Manage Recruitment/People Inbox — Respond to emails in a friendly and timely manner and direct enquiries to the relevant team members.
- Assist with engagement activities — Help organise wellbeing initiatives, events, surveys and internal communications.
- Support compliance and documentation — Ensure files, right‑to‑work checks and policy documents are accurate and up to date.
- Contribute to People projects — Get involved in improvement projects, new processes and system updates as part of your development.
- Learn and Develop — Actively participate in your apprenticeship training, applying new knowledge to your day‑to‑day work.
What do I need to bring with me?
Requirements:- 5 GCSEs (including English and maths) or equivalent
- Curious and eager to learn — A genuine interest in understanding how HR works and a desire to grow quickly.
- Empathetic and people‑focused — Able to listen, understand different perspectives and support colleagues with care.
- Positive and proactive — Brings good energy, takes initiative and looks for ways to help without being asked.
- Organised and reliable — Keeps on top of tasks, follows processes and can be trusted with important details.
- Adaptable and open‑minded — Happy to switch tasks, learn new systems and embrace change.
