Our Kingsmead Day Nursery in Winchester is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Apprentice to join our team. You will play a key role in caring for, supporting and inspiring our children, encouraging curiosity and helping them thrive every day.

About Our Nursery
Our Approach
At Kingsmead, we provide a nurturing, home‑from‑home environment where children can explore, play and learn with confidence. Staff support curiosity, independence and decision‑making through a rich mix of play‑based and structured activities.
Our Location
Centrally located on Gordon Road in Winchester, our nursery is easy to reach for local families, with strong community links and nearby green spaces for outdoor adventures.
Our Team
Our experienced team includes qualified practitioners and a dedicated SENCo to support children with additional needs. We believe strong staff‑family partnerships help every child flourish.
Facilities
We offer bright, thoughtfully equipped playrooms for different ages and a large outdoor garden packed with play zones, vegetable plots and outdoor learning spaces, perfect for physical play and discovery.
Activities
Children enjoy a wide range of engaging experiences such as dance, yoga, gardening, storytelling, and interactive sessions with animals, tennis and drama. Regular community outings, like river walks and library visits, bring learning to life.

What will you be doing

Ensure that the children’s individual needs are identified and met

Supervise and support the children at all times

Carry out a wide range of interactive tasks including reading stories, helping at mealtimes, playing games, and changing nappies

Act as a positive, practical role model for the children

Develop friendly, professional relationships with staff members and parents

Ensure you fully understand and follow Safeguarding Procedures

Work towards gaining your Early Years qualification in a supportive and professional environment with hands-on experience
