Fife Council is committed to creating employment and training opportunities for the young people of Fife. A Modern Apprenticeship is a work-based training programme that leads to an industry approved qualification. The training can be both on and off-the-job, which means Modern Apprentices (MAs) learn the right mix of skills, abilities and knowledge.
Good housing impacts on so many aspects of our daily lives. As well as being a basic human right, it also encourages a sense of community, helps economies to thrive and creates an environment which people want to protect.
We need you to help us meet our aim to provide everyone with access to good quality, affordable decent housing that meets their needs and aspirations. We want to improve the quality of life for people across Fife, and we work with many different organisations, including tenants’ groups, to try to make that happen.
As a Housing MA, you will be based in one of our area teams providing frontline services to tenants. You can expect to gain an understanding of the range of services provided and will have the opportunity to shadow and gain insight into other teams throughout the programme.
Through job shadowing, you will support staff carrying out projects and work with tenants and prospective tenants, including supervised contact with customers over the phone and by letter. You will maintain records using Housing Management Information Systems and will work closely with other Services across the Council, and on occasion external contractors/suppliers.
You will be expected to achieve a CIH Level 2 in Housing and an SVQ Level 2 in Housing.
These vacancies are restricted to applicants who currently live in Fife. You must also be aged between 16 and 24 on the 1st of August 2026.
A link to the role profile is included below. You will find more information about the job and the type of person we are looking for.
We are looking for MAs who wish to work with customers with wide ranging needs, usually in a home environment. We are looking for people who can empathise with our customers, and who can demonstrate inter-personal, team working and coping skills to deliver the best service to our tenants. You should therefore be confident, open-minded and ready to provide support not judgement.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
